Timeline of the international 24-7 Prayer movement

2011    24-7 Prayer extended to Asia and the Middle East

Partnership began with the Loretto movement, a charismatic Catholic community born out of Austria and operating all over Europe.

 

2012    The ‘Why Pray’ video released

    The Prayer Course launched. 10,000th prayer room registered

 

2015    The Prayer Course for Prisoners, ran in more than 100 prisons

 

2016    The launch of Thy Kingdom Come – a week of non-stop prayer leading up to Pentecost, which has grown into an annual global initiative across the Anglican Church.

 

2017    24-7 Prayer South Africa founded

 

2018    The launch of UK based, Wildfires Festival, a joint venture focused on a hunger for revival.

Inner Room App is launched, turning a phone into a portable prayer room.

 

2019    Lectio 365 App launched, a daily devotional app based on Lectio Devina to help people pray the Bible every day.

 

2020    Covid-19 pandemic resources helping churches to run virtual prayer rooms.

Be Still book and series released – equipping people to build their relationship with God in quiet times.

 

2022    Partnership with Waverley Abbey with a vision to create a new abbey for a new generation – a hub of encounter, education, enterprise and engagement

First 24-7 Prayer team in Latin America

2023    New 24-7 Prayer room resources

24-7 Prayer Podcast created to share some of the incredible stories so far.

24-7 Prayer teams launched in Australia and NZ

 

2024    21 national 24-7 Prayer teams across 6 continents

Lectio 365 trialled in French, Arabic and German

25,000 prayer rooms registered

2025   Celebrating 25 years since 24-7 began; churches around the world invited to participate in a global week of prayer in September
